What this credential certifies
This subject describes the performance, skills and knowledge required to implement prearranged work health and safety practices at a management level to ensure a safe workplace. It requires the ability to monitor safe work practices and coordinate consultation, risk assessments, work health and safety training, and the maintenance of records across the tourism, travel, hospitality and event sectors.
Awarded on completion of the subject requirements, validated by eVersity Online Campus. PERFORMANCE EVIDENCE — the participant demonstrated the ability to: Implement and monitor workplace health and safety protocols; coordinate risk assessments, WHS training and hazard identification; manage the reporting and documentation of incidents and analyse them to prevent recurrence; and align practice with the applicable state or territory WHS law. KNOWLEDGE EVIDENCE — the participant was able to: Explain hazard identification, risk assessment and the implementation and monitoring of risk controls; describe the legal framework for workplace health and safety including employee duties and the consequences of non-compliance; and give examples of effective communication strategies for promoting a safety culture. Status: non-accredited. This subject is aligned to Australian units of competency.
